Imagine passing through the gates of an estate where breathtaking scale meets absolute elegance. The Château du Champ de Bataille is not just a historical residence; it is the work of a lifetime—that of the famous decorator Jacques Garcia, who breathed life back into this 17th-century brick and stone giant to create the “Norman Versailles.”

Opening Hours: The gardens open at 10:00 AM. The château (interiors) generally opens its doors later in the day. Paulette will check the precise access slots for you so you don’t find the doors closed.
The Gardens: Inspired by André Le Nôtre’s designs but reinterpreted with a modern touch, they are famous for their water features and monumental architectural structures (the Indian Palace, the Temple of Leda).
Weather: The garden visit is very extensive and offers little shade. Bring protection from the sun or rain to comfortably enjoy the 40 hectares.
Accessibility: The gardens feature many gravel paths. The ground floor of the château is accessible, but access to the upper floors depends on the tour route in effect.
This experience is provided by a specialized partner, at the current public rates.

“Take advantage of the gardens opening at 10:00 AM for a quiet morning stroll before the crowds arrive. It’s the perfect time to discover the Indian Palace at the far end of the park in peace. My advice? Have a lunch break nearby, then head to the château interiors in the early afternoon to ensure you respect the last entry at 4:30 PM.”
